You Can Always Find Room for Burlap

As previously confessed….I have a hankering for burlap {read here}. Hannah as my witness-it’s not overwhelming {or so she politely said}. More on this in a bit.

On a whim I ran through KMart the other day {I was bored, they have no lines, don’t judge}. Let me tell ya–it pays to shop at KMart. I scored two plastic urns for $4.50 {75% off!!} I’ve been dying to have some urns on my front stoop–it looks so barren.

It sill looks a little barren. All I had to fill the urns with were some asparagus ferns I’d already had in containers. I really wasn’t in the mood to re-pot the ferns, so I just slipped them in the urns still in their original container.

As I’ve often told my landscape customers–”bring your style into the garden!” So naturally I had to follow my own advice! Here enters the need for some burlap.

Because there was space to fill between the fern’s container and the size of my urn, I simply stuffed some burlap scraps alongside to fill the gap. I think it turned out perfectly!

I’m really holding out until fall annuals are avilable to add some spice to such a boring entrance. I’ve been perusing Pinterest for months now and drooling over all the inspiring containers…I’m not sure which way I’ll go!

Pumpkins mixed with fall annuals are the perfect combo!

I’m totally decorating with white pumpkins this year! Love that look!

I like how the leaves are layered with the pumpkins.
