Adding a little sweetness to each day.

Living simply, sweetly and deeply – this is my new year’s resolution this year.  For me this means slowing life down by relishing and celebrating the small moments that fill our days.

In my last post I talked about easy ways to collect those small magical memories.  I showed two great ideas.    Here’s my memory keeper for 2012:

Now that I am focusing on capturing these moments, I find myself thinking of other things that make an every day a little more sparkly.  Like homemade milkshakes served with Monday’s dinner.

Or a killer game of Uno after nap time.

Or finding paw prints in the snow.

Or making colored “glass”.

These little activities are inexpensive and simple.  But the spontaneous fun? Well it’s irresistible.

I found this website for playdough Valentines and thought of you and your friends with younger children! Don’t think I’ll get Matthew interested in making these but thought I’d share with you. http://frecklescrafts.com/blog/sparkly-kool-aid-play-dough-valentines-tutorial/

Please celebrate anything you can. Big and small- it makes our lives richer. Valentines Day was always big at our house with balloons, cards and candy at the breakfast table. Less obvious celebrations included a project completed, paper written or try-outs triumphed. We have plenty of reasons to doubt our actions- which is even more reason to celebrate the moments we “rock it”.
